It doesnt decrease the BTU rating. This is a set 9500 BTU rating it just depends on tje temperature that you set. If you leave the fan on continuously the converter will turn off and on to keep the room to a set temperature
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit is thermostatically controlled I believe. Your btu usage will be controlled by the thermostat setting vs outside temperature. The inverter control allows the fan and compressor to ramp up slowly . Slow starting a motor uses less power than starting at full power. From what I've learned from mine it should work fine in a smaller room. Also this unit is pretty quiet.
