Mine came with a few minutes (I don't remember how many). I would buy a trac phone card along with the phone to be sure you have enough minutes. Whether you use data or bluetooth all the time will determine how long your battery lasts. I've had no problems so far and I've had mine 6 months.

Costs $19.99 for 60 minutes & 3 months use. I also use straight talk for home phone. Unlimited local & long distance costs me $15.00 per month. U can also pay once for triple minutes if U use a tracpone. Sold @ Walmart. For the home phone U have to buy the base unit. I had a wireless home phone from AT&T with 3 extra phones for years that worked with straight talk, so now I have a phone in my living room, one in my computer room & one in my bedroom. For a total I pay $19.99 for 3 months of service on the phone U are asking about, and unlimited local & long distance for a total of $24.77 per month. Remember, I have 2 phone numbers.
