From what I’ve experienced, the washer automatically senses the size of your load when the washer is initially started. Once that process is complete, the washer adapts to the size of your load and automatically dispenses the proper amount of water at detergent based off the load size it sensed. I haven’t had any problems with it inaccurately sensing my load sizes.
