I took it on a trip with me, and tried some homemade DVDs on it.....didn't work at all. Haven't tried CDs to play, but of course they all play on my desktop computer on iTunes and media player. I think this may have erased an unprotected DVD when I tried to play it. I bought it first so I could install software and it worked fairly well for that. If you see something better, comment for me.
