• you set the region code, like any player/burner. it comes with no region code specified

• Hi Jackie, It is my understanding that it is the disks which are locked, not the DVD devices themselves. So if the disks are not locked then they should play on this device.

• The player is locked to region 1. You can reset that by going to properties in the device manager up to 4 more times.
