Yes it will, and if you want you can make an ISO FILE of the disk and use it in the virtual cd drive. Thats in the software package and never need to have the disk with you to play.

It will function like any other cd drive, and depends on the data format of the file you're trying to use, and what program you're gonna run on your computer. So yes, the drive will work for this.

This external drive should work just like a USB Stick as in it will work the same as your internal drive. I have had no problems yet.

That's a tricky one. The drive is USB 2.0 which is definitely slower than a USB 3.0 external and extremely slower than an internal SATA drive. A lot depends upon how graphic intense the game is, how fast your computer is, and how much internal memory you have. The Best Buy return policy is pretty rock solid, so you can always buy, test and return within 15 days if it doesn't work out.
