• Each small speaker plugs in with a RCA jack to back of center unit. Each speaker has a length of wire. The small speakers are not physically mounted to center unit.

• Yes, but has special connector, not just wire. You could easily modify. Better yet contact Best Buy. That is beauty of BB. It is great sounding speaker as is. I recall connector as RCA from past. Still comes down to moving electrons via wire.
