Tom, Yes. I have a screen protector on mine, and the protector doesn't go all the way to the edge of the phone. That leaves plenty of room for this case to grip.

Yes you can I use th Zagg glass screen guard with no issue.

Most screen protectors leave a gap around the outer edges of the phone, so you should be fine. The Zagg InvisibleSheild that I have definitely works with room to spare.

Yes. A screen protector would work with this case as long as it's centered on the phone.

Yes, but the Defender comes with a built in screen protector. It is not glass however but adding a glass case will work.
