• The manufacturer has you run a test before you put your phone in it by submerging it in water for at least a half hour. I have never had any issues with the 4 that I have bought. Yes, they are waterproof if you run the test and verify that there is not a defect.

• It does not make the iPhone water proof. I have one and water gets into the case since there is no front screen on it any more.
