Hi Rick, I believe your issue is with the provider. If you are in the same room as your router, you should be pulling the full 50 mb (sometimes more). Try utilizing 5ghz band as well on anything you can to eliminate any interference on the spectrum. I suspect you have a cabling issue in your home. It is common that so many splitters can be installed that your signal falls apart. Have COMCAST come test your line and equipment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Rick, I had my Condo rewired and was having issues with my Internet. Turned out the Modem I purchased (instead of renting one from Comcast) was a Lemon. I returned it to BestBuy and got a new Modem. Everything worked then as expected. I do have Wifi too. My son, who is a bit of a geek, told me I was crazy when I said the Modem was a lemon. But I didn't listen to him. My Modem was new at the time. The other thing to consider, especially if you haven't had a new modem in a couple of years is that the speed of the signal and the modem can be incompatible. PS I just realized how old your question was but answered anyway in case it helps someone else.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see you said you have the latest router Comcast provides. Usually cable companies only provide a standard Wireless G router. You should go out and buy a Wireless N or Wireless AC router before thinking about a range extender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Extender is excellent. I think you will benefit from it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think the wireless extender will boost the signal, only distribute the signal to a greater area. Given that you have 50Mbps coming in and only 1-3 of usable, it almost sounds like your router needs the upgrade..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like Comcast needs to send another tech. Of you aren't getting the throughout in the same room with the router a booster isn't going to help. If you get closer to the 50Mb when connected worth a wire you may need to consider a new wireless router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.comcast is our internet provider we have the latest router they provide dont know any more details about it than that the house is 2350 sqft the router is diagonally at the farthest point from the family room where all the ipads and iphones are used. wi-fi continually dropped and comcast told me to get an extender we bought this one and have not lost wifi in the family room since
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the WiFi access point is only 10 feet away, then you probably have some problem other than weak signal. I recommend first reconfiguring the Comcast access point. Make sure it's using 802.11g, n, or ac, and verify that your computers are using the same. Try changing the WiFi channel on the Comcast AP. Try turning it 90 degrees and adjusting external antennas if there are any. Turn off any electronics and motors in the room to see if that helps. If none of that works, get a replacement from Comcast.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know $ 400 sounds expensive but neat gear Nighthawk X8 is awesome , depending on your wireless devices you should get 50 down in any part of the condo ! and to connect is pretty simple and make the Comcast all in one box they gave you, run only as a modem. In bridgemode and run the new router and you will be amazed ! if 400 is too much buy a few on some credit cards and try them out and see which one works better in your apt and return the others but you need something around $ 180 and up to make a difference in what you have now the extender wont do nothing for you because the comcast router is not doing its job.
