It "extends" your signal...does not cancel it out.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.`I used this device with both a cable connection and a wifi connection at the same time. Your network and sharing center will show both connections. I helps increase speed, or at least it did for me. However, sometimes being connected to the range extender kept me from getting online, when the range extender would lose its connectivity to the router, but it didn't know it. Had to unplug ethernet, and go direct to router via wifi to rectify. Either than or reset extender and reboot computer.
