• It is compatible with Xfinity, and yes you will need a modem for this to work. It’s OK to rent your modem from your cable company, but their routers are horrible. So you want to buy your own, this one is a very good one. Modem/router combos can be good if you spend a lot of money on them, otherwise it’s best to buy them separately.
