“Presales questions on Linksys WRT1750AC (AC1200) router I’m looking to replace a Netgear WiFi router running DD-WRT and need to confirm some information I’ve been told before purchasing it’s replacement, currently I’m looking at a WRT1750AC. 1. I want to user the WRT1750AC as an access point. Routing and DHCP will be performed via the existing wired network. Basically this will be a WiFi bridge into the existing network, using the same IP address space. I’ve been unable to find anything in the online documentation regarding use as an Access Point, does this device have an access point mode? 2. My current configuration uses WPA2/AES (personal) with a passphrase that contains special characters, to include spaces. To date I’ve only discovered one manufacturer that doesn’t support spaces in the passphrase (Amped Wireless). Changing the current passphrase is not an option. Does this device support special characters (to include spaces) in the passphrase when using WPA2/AES?”

1. yes you can use either router as an access port. I set it up for someone's warehouse with two access points. 2. yes you can make the password anything you want, even spaces.

The mobile app if i remember doesnt let you get that deep into configuration. As far as supporting special characters in the wpa2 paraphrase.......not sure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I too needed to replace a Netgear wi/fi router. The WRT1900AC will do what you want. Matter of fact continue to use your existing modem as a bridge and let the 1900 be your router, it can also be used as an access point. It is well worth the cost!
