Basically that is correct. It finds the network and syncs as long as you initially plug in next to existing router and press sync button on your home router to have it send signal. Once it goes green and you do twice for both bands 2g and 5g you can unplug and relocate and it will go green if it is close enough to the origianal router to get a signal. It will go orange if not. If not simply plug into an outlet closer to the original router until you find the best location for you and it goes green. That is it.
