The Jitterbug Flip does have the ability to text custom messages or via a library of commonly use phrases. It does not have access to the internet. Please see the Jitterbug Smart2, is an easy to use Smartphone that does have access to the internet.

You can also request to turn off texting service if you wish. The text type is old school flip phone keypad . In our case we chose not to use the text feature so as to minimize features for our loved one to have to learn or accidentally end up in. That feature can be turned back on if needed at a later date. Great call helped set features and answered our question before and after purchasing.
