• The mount comes with a smooth round plate that has double sided tape to mount on dash. Then you use the suction cup on that piece. You do need a flat spot but it does not have to be completely smooth.

• The surface has to be flat for the suction to work but a sticker with a semi metallic plate is provided for those type of surfaces.

• The device holder comes with a small round plastic plate that you first put on the dash. It's put on with a two-way tape and It holds very well. Then the device is mounted onto the plate with suction. The other option is to mount it directly to the glass with a suction cup.

• It is best on the windshield but it does bring a round smooth plastic you can stick to the dash for better suction. It has a firm sunction on smooth surfaces. It will not hold on to the dash without a smooth surface.

• Adjustable angles and Surface doesn't need to be smooth. Comes with a base to place suction on.

• It needs to be pretty flat, but that is the purpose of the mounting disc included with it.

• It's a regular windshield suction cup. The provide a smooth disk with adhesive for dash mounting.

• It needs a fairly smooth surface without too much curvature. But once its on, it won't let go. Rock solid.

• I don't know since my dash is not flat and I used a smooth piece of plastic to hold the dock to the dash.
