• ...just peel off the old adhesive. It takes some work and it's a plan, but it comes off. Then go get some good 2 sided tape and you are all set. Worked for me

• I had the same delima and resorted to mounting it to the windshield. Either that or try Gorilla Glue for the dash (I did not do that as I did not want to make it quite so permanent).
