A:Answer I haven't tried with a group of people, but I just checked and it can easily pick up text from a smaller magazine. I'd recommend downloading the software & manually adjusting zoom & focus.
A tripod would help, but the back of the camera is very flexible. on a monitor, you could easily angle it straight down(so much so it's nearly pointing at the monitor it's on. I don't think you'd want to do that, but just showcasing its flexibility) or a little in front of it.
