What is the function of the star button? null

The star is for information. If you push the button and look at the screen, it will show 4 different items controlled by the buttons next to the screen. Hope that helps

Love love this product! We had 4 remotes so having the universal remote makes it so easy just one to turn on the television and netflix and dvd. I'm not disappointed and reccomend it to anyone.
