While this will technically control your Apple TV it is not a good replacement for the Apple remote that has a touchpad. Number one you cannot talk into it which is a great feature on the Apple TV. Number two you can’t use the “mouse“ touch of the Apple remote because you just have arrows to move up down right left and select. If you have the old-style Apple remote this is probably fine but it’s pretty lame if you’re used to the touchpad remote
