• Sorry, we don't have 1000-year nuclear batteries for use in consumer electronics. The batteries will have to be replaced, especially before their expiration date or they could leak all over the place. Remote uses standard AA batteries.

• Hello Jerry! Yes, you might need to replace the included 2-AA batteries inside of your Harmony 665 10-Device Universal Remote at some point, it always depends on usage, but they do last a long time. Simply flip over the remove, open up the battery cover, and you'll be good to go.
