Please try again later.Yes it has to be programmed on line and you need the equipment info, inputs and answer simple questions on how you want to use it but it is straight forward and you can easily change things if it doesn't work the way you intend it to. The help button works wonders to fix problems

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the remote requires some fairly detailed setup using a laptop (recommended) or desktop computer with USB to sync the settings to the remote. It can be frustrating and tedious to get everything to work initially, but once it is all setup it works great. The remote would probably work through glass cabinet doors, but if you have solid cabinet doors for your A/V devices, you'll want to get one of the remote versions that has the hub with IR blasters.
