• It will work with Roku. However, Chromecast does not use a remote. You use the device that you are streaming to the Chromecast from as a remote. For example, if you are streaming Netflix from your phone to Chromecast, your phone will be used as the remote.

• So far this works great with roku. The proprietary buttons like the asterisk * show up on the screen. I have not needed the roku remote after programming this with my roku 2.

• Roku yes, as long as its within line of sight for the remote. Nothing to control with a chromecast
