Both the Harmony Elite and Companion remotes use the Harmony Hub for communicating with your devices. The Hub has IR blasters all around its edges to help hit IR receivers in various locations. In addition, the Companion ships with one IR mini blaster, and the Elite ships with two IR mini blasters. The mini blasters can be used to reach IR receivers that the Hub cannot "see". Check the Harmony compatibility database to make sure that the devices that you own are supported (https://support.myharmony.com/en-us/compatibility). Based on the limited info given here, I would recommend the Harmony Companion, but be sure to research the features of both to make sure that the remote you choose incorporates all of the features that you want/need. Another option would be to just get a Harmony Hub and use a smart phone or tablet to control your media devices. However, this is not a familiar way of controlling media components. So, it may not be ideal for some families or family members. Also, the Hub by itself does not include any IR mini blasters.
