Q: QuestionDo you have to have a smart tv in order for this to work? Will this work with Alexa to change channels with cable? Can you say "Alexa go change to Disney channel"?

Q: QuestionDoes the remote emit IR to turn on a TV? My U-verse DVR is behind a wall, so I plan to use the IR blaster to control it; but I need to be able to power the TV on and off from in the room via IR.

• A:Answer The remote itself doesn't emit IR, but the base and the included IR blaster does. You essentially get two separate IR transmitters with this device that spray the entire room and if placed correctly will usually hit every device. You can place the IR blaster, which includes about 8 feet of cable, by the DVR in the other room and the base by the TV. Should work fine.

• A:Answer Is the Hub located where it can “see” the TV? The remote does NOT have IR and sends all commands through the Hub. Hub needs line of sight to the TV to work.

• A:Answer I personally opted for this one because of battery life. The screen draws way more power and needs to be constantly charged very week or so, depending on use. The battery in this one without the screen will probably last for at least a year if not more. It's cool to have the screen, but when I had the Harmony One, the screen was also always accidentally being touched which was very disrupting.
