Yes, it does have the Smart Connect, one of my favorite features. Can open just the upper half (landscape mode) to check on noiifications and close. Turns on and off with closure. Sign in is limited to what you have set up.

It uses Smart Connect. Once connected to the iPad it is ready for use immediately. No need to pair thru bluetooth. It’s super simple and efficient.

The case uses the smart connector on the iPad and not Bluetooth. Works very well.

I think it’s Bluetooth, but I didn’t actually have to pair it. So perhaps its smart?
