Yes the keyboard is magnetized and can be removed & reconnected easily. When it is connected and closed it acts as the screen protector. Quite well designed.

Yes, Jack, the keyboard detaches and it folds in half for use. Light weight, highly responsive keys, makes computing a breeze on the IPad.

It has a magnetic attachment and will come off if needed.

The keyboard and flat ‘wrist-rest’ are detachable from iPad if not needed. When being used, as a cover or functional keyboard, they attach magnetically to the iPad’s left side (when viewed with the home button at the bottom). BTW, I really enjoy the flexibility this offers me in using the iPad.

Keyboard can be removed leaving the iPad in its easeled case, or can be closed over the screen protecting it in a “clamshell”.
