• Yes, they need to be plugged into an outlet to work. But extension cords work great for outside and there is plenty of wire on the camera to place almost anywhere.

• Hello, Yes, the cameras need to be plugged into an electrical outlet for constant power, and do not run on batteries. The video is transmitted on a wireless signal, so no long video cable is required back to the main unit. Thanks, Lorex

• Yes they are powered by an electrical outlet, the common ac plug in. You might need to run an extension cord or install new outlets.

• Yes they require power, but it is DC and a very long chord can be run to them!
