“Can I set specified cameras to motion detection or must they all be set to motion detection? There are some places on my property I would like to record 24 seven and others I would like to record only if there is motion such as the front door or driveway.”

Yes you can select which channels you want to have motion recording on, they don't have to all be set the same way.
