I set this up for a couple who had recently had their house vandalized. The cameras were easy to install and pair. Good wireless range. Noticed no drop off in their wi-fi signal as some have stated. The cameras give a pretty good picture at 720p however I dedicated one of them at a lower height and straighter angle in order to pick up license plate numbers. Picking up plate numbers is tough for these cameras. Pretty good range and really good side range. DVR is fairly intuitive and provides a lot of options. With all 4 cameras filming continuously the 1 TB drive seems to last roughly a month to 5 weeks and then overwrites if you want. The night vision is just alright. The motion detection of the system is just fair. Overall a good system at this price.

Easy system to connect if you have readily available power. WiFi connected very easily to the system and found it right away. App worked well. Scan barcode on cell phone and connected to the system. Was able to see everything from my phone. During day, you have great color and great clarity. The infra-red in the evenings is okay, but quickly loses visibility with distance from the camera. Other cameras have more infrared LEDs and can "see" further, but this will cover your driveway or walkway effectively. Only negative to point out is the camera WiFi will kill your home WiFi and bandwidth. It operates on the 2.4hz transmission signal as do many WiFi antennas and devices. I had a 24Mbps download from ATT and it was crushed by all 4 cameras transmitting at the same time. I upgraded to the 50Mbps and I'm good now even running 2 wifi computers, 2 tablets and 5 cell phones.

Installation was easy. Distance from base to cameras was at least 100 feet, and no issues. Base setup and programming using the interface could be a little easier, but wasn't that difficult. That was the only reason I gave this four stars. A simpler user interface and this would get five stars. Have had this a few months now and no issues.

Good quality HD Picture with extended night vision Range. Wish the wireless range for the camera system was more. Love the mobile surveillance application to view on my droid or PC. 1 TB of memory so there's plenty of file storage.

The instructions are not very well written or detailed. I had to go to the website and look for additional information when setting them up just to verify what I assumed, but nothing was too difficult. The quality of the cameras are great, I'm waiting to test the email/motion alerts, so hopefully that will work well. Otherwise I'm very happy with the system.

Purchased this system after reading many reviews. Got a great sale price at Best Buy. I concluded this was the best system for the money after looking at other manufacturers and comparing prices with the Lorex website. The cameras work exceptionally well. I've summarized some of my thoughts: 1. One of the complaints I read is that it is not truly wireless because you need power outlets outside for the camera. After trying several times to get an electrician to install outlets outside and getting very frustrated, I installed my own power outlets (conduit, boxes, etc.) with advice from Home Depot employees and saved a ton of money. In MY opinion, these cameras are NOT designed for outside use in places that are prone to weather exposure! This is because the 12v power adapters do not work with "in-use" covered outlet boxes, which are code for the state of Florida. I had to heavily modify the boxes to be able to plug in the adapters. (If building codes are not a problem then the system is fine). My suggestion is that Lorex make a simple modification to the design of their adapters to fit the "in-use" covered boxes. Also, remember to use at least one GFCI outlet for each circuit. My cameras are fairly well protected under eaves, but rain or moisture could be a problem with non-enclosed outlets. 2. I have had zero issues with the software and router, which many people complained about. Works great on my iPad. I have a 1300 sq ft. cement-block home and the weakest signal I get is 3/5 bars. If you don't understand how to install software the get some help! If the signal loses range there is an annoying set of 5-6 "beeps", but at least it quits without intervention. The software is easy to use and you can review any of the camera's recordings from past days on the DVR with ease. 3. I installed some new outdoor "lanterns" on my garage and front door wall. I installed some 100 watt equivalent LED bulbs which has improved the night vison range. The light is ambient. Do not place the camera in direct bright lighting or night vision is impaired! Since the garage lanterns are on all night, the LED's are very cost effective. 4. Work with a friend to check what the camera will look like before you permanently install them. I made the holes in the camera mounting bases a little larger and installed them using Tapcon screws into the concrete block. The cameras have both horizontal and vertical adjustment. The antenna mount somewhat limits the adjustment (I would like to see Lorex fix the design so that there is 180 degree both horizontal and vertical). However, this is not a major problem since the cameras have an excellent wide field of vision with very minimal distortion. Overall, I am satisfied so far with the system. It was the best deal for my needs. Time will tell.

Very happy with the this Lorax Surveillance System. The Wi-Fi signal is very good. It has a good picture. One issue is that the image at times is not smooth. When viewing people move it is more stop and go and not smooth. Overall it is a good product.

The cameras were easy to install. Their resolution is not what I expected. The system was easy to set up but the web service that is supposed to allow you to see your cameras over the web is not compatible with Comcast.

System components were easy to setup. The 1080p full-screen display was clear and detailed when attached to my 60" 1080p TV using the provided HDMI cable. Contracted an electrician to install 4 electrical receptacles where needed when I decided to purchase a wireless security camera system. Mounted the cameras under eves near 4 corners of my home. With the receiver on a shelf in the living room, the cameras normally display 4 to 5-dot signal strength. All 4 video images were strong and clear. LH050's preinstalled software was intuitive and easy to put to use. LH050's U.S. date and 12-hour time formats cannot be changed according to a prompt email reply from Lorex tech support. I had returned my first LH050 to BestBuy.com, because the mouse and channel 4 camera did not work. Decided to give another new LH050 a chance and bought a new replacement from BestBuy.com, which works perfectly. Happen chance, bought the replacement unit just when BestBuy.com put them on sale for $150 off their regular price of $599.99. Only detractor was the Stratus remote access app requires at least 2Mb/s upload speed to operate playback, remotely.

Good wireless camera system with good enough range for a smaller home. Cameras in front, back and garage all have good range to the base in a centrap location.

Unit is essentially plug and play very easy to setup and get running. I ran into issues after initial setup; since the signal is wireless; I received a few random dropped lost signals. Worried that in the crucial moment the signal might not be working. However this did not occur with all 4 simultaneously. For me it's worth the risk since I have multiple cameras trained from different angles.

Great picture quality and can record ALOT of footage. Downside though, it will eat through your 2.4GHZ wifi and you will NOT be able to use it. You will have to switch everything in your home to 5GHZ wifi.

I got surveillance system for my grandma's house and she doesn't have internet. We bought small 19" TV to see all the camera's views. Can't see on iPhone/iPad but good for right now. Only thing is product is expensive. I got it on Deal of Day where it was $150 off! A great deal! Also recommend someone who knows electrical work to make installing faster and easier.

It may not be high tech, but it is sufficient. I've got a small office space of which fits it perfectly. Easy setup and was done in less than an hour... As many reviews have already stated, the longest part is deciding location of cameras.

The wireless connection is convenient but the signal gets lost very often in some cameras. The range distance works first me at 250ft. This kit is good enough.

I like the simple set up of these cameras, the whole setting up was quick and simple but with that said there is downside to,for the price, I wish it came with 6 cameras instead of only 4. There is no zoom and has a 4second delay in picture because its wireless. Overall I like them and the app on the Android is easy to use.

Thank you for your feedback. For wireless cameras, we only recommend using up to 4 as anything beyond that could result in competing signals and may not work. lorextech
