Q: QuestionI had my house prewired for security cameras. How does the wire connect to the camera? would I need to buy Ethernet connectors to put on the end of the wires I have already installed?
Asked by Tina.
- A:Answer This is a PoE camera system and you will need Ethernet cables. They come with the package but if you have pre wired then you would need to add connectors on ends of cable.

Q: QuestionWhat is the maximum distance for the ethernet wire run from the camera to the DVR?
Asked by MrBean.
- A:Answer You can buy your own cable and the crimping tool to make a longer run than the 100’ cables provided. I suggest using a powered switch for any runs over 150-200’. If you have more than 1 camera to run over 150’ you can run them into a 4-8 port powered switch and then run only 1 line to the dvr. The cameras need that extra boost of power to run correctly and keep your picture clear.

Q: QuestionIs this price correct? $850?? The same system with the DNC cables is over half the price, why such a jump for POE?
Asked by SSouth.
- A:Answer I think you mean BNC cables. The difference is that POE means power over Ethernet so you don’t need to worry about putting the cameras near an outlet. Also the clarity is much much better with POE.
