I have two cameras and a WiFi hot spot in my barn connected to a POE network switch, which uses a single CAT6 cable from my router to connect to the NVR. You can use a network switch/router to connect multiple cameras without running multiple wires but I don’t think it’ll work by plugging the switch/router directly into the NVR. My setup has the NVR wired to one port on my router, then the switch wired to another port on the same router.
