When a surveillance system is a Lorex NVR, the power is supplied directly to the camera via the same cable that connects directly from the main unit to the cameras. There is not a separate AC adapter plug either for the main unit nor for the cameras themselves. All the power for the cameras to function both with infrared during the night and functioning without night vision during the day is supplied by the same cable. The main unit connects to a wall outlet via a standard electrical plug found on a fan, as an example. The cable going to the camera is an all in one cable for all connections. One cable only, nothing additional. In regards to the quality of support and quality of the camera the rating is junk! The quality of resolution is NOT in any way near the examples shown in Lorex advertising. The color night vision is NOT as advertised. As an example of poor quality, one of the cameras I have does NOT function unless I add a small flood light, which is on a time switch, to automatically switch on at night. I can truthfully say, without exaggeration, a person buying a Lorex product will be very disappointed. The same unit failed two times in one year. If not for Best Buy's extended warranty the surveillance system would have been thrown in the garbage, as Lorex does NOT abide by their warranty. My suggestion is to purchase a surveillance system by another company.
