“My husband has tinnitus and is a little hard of hearing. I am looking for something to help him hear when watching television while the rest of the house can hear the tv at normal volume. Will this work for that or do you have another product”

Lisa, yes! This is the product for you! The hear gear box is what is the headphones are connecting to and not the actual tv, allowing the rest of the house to hear the TV at a volume that is comfortable for them!
