Q: QuestionI need a laptop to record my digital piano and burn cd’s. Will this work and is there a DAW that is included with this laptop? Also, can I connect studio monitors to it to hear the playback?

• A:Answer I'm sure you COULD connect this to a G5 monitor if you found a USBc to ADC converter, but by the time you do that, you are using a really old low quality monitor that probably won't look good or be comfortable to use with modern Mac OS. You would be better off finding a USBC to HDMI adapter and using it with a more modern monitor or TV, a plus side to that solution would be the 2nd part of your question. If you wish to use an ethernet wired connection there is no port for it on this computer, but they do have network ports on some of the USBc to HDMI adapters out there.

• A:Answer Not to my knowledge. Apple allows new products to be sold at stores like Best Buy only if the price is the same as Apple stores. Even the promotional sales must be the same offered by Apple. Best Buy sales used/preowned laptops in working condition that tend to be a few hundred dollars cheaper and are unlocked where it can be registered as your device on ICloud. I have a student discount for my monthly Apple Music subscription so I thought they may offer one for computers. The only promotion for students I have found was to apply for a citi bank “student” credit card.
