No, Apple had removed the optical drive from the MacBook Air from the beginning. but you can buy a good cheap like the LG for around $25 I believe.

No, just 2 usb-c (thunderbolt) ports on the left side, you can use an external one though... like those things I just added to the answer :D.. the adapter you need to go from regular usb-a to usb-c
