“Does the laptop charger use one of the two thunderbolt ports or does it charge via a barrel charger? Also what cable/adapter do you need to buy if you want to plug in since you need usb a ports to plug in wireless mouse, usb flash drive etc?”

For charging this macbook pro (MBP) 14 inch, i use the magsafe cable connected to the usb c charging brick that comes with the MPB. You can get a Usb c to Usb c cable to charge it using any of the usb c ports of the MBP. As for an adaptor to attach usb A accessories i use the Satechi - USB Type-C Slim 7-in-1 Multiport Adapter with Ethernet - 4K HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C PD Charging - Space Gray, that you can get at best buy.
