How does upgrading the game to next gen work? null

I just watched a couple videos on this topic and all of the people said that if you buy the physical copy of the game there will be an entitlement so you don’t have to buy the game for the next gen console.

U have to put the next gen upgrade code in they gave u with your ps4 purchase in the ps5 store on your next gen system

From my understanding They should provide you with a code you need to enter onto your next gen console , but it does state when purchasing this game you also purchase it for the PS5/XBOX , digital versions may be excluded .

the game comes with a code to be able to use on ps5. It is only the standard edition for PS5
