The 2016 4k version has a digital code and the 2018 4k version doesn't have a digital code. That's the only difference between the two.

The introduction of 4K and Dolby Atmos which enhances your vision and audio viewing/listening experience.To experience the full presentation requires a 4K with Atmos but the plain blu-ray will allow you to taste some.

Besides the reason you just mentioned (audio/video) the only discernable difference I've noticed is that one version comes with the Digital copy so you can download it onto Vudu/Movies anywhere account while the other is simply the 4k & blu ray version.
