“I noticed there are two releases for this 4k version. One released in 2018 and another in 2016. Are there differences other than the rebranded cover like audio and video of the two releases?”

The 2016 4k version has a digital code and the 2018 4k version doesn't have a digital code. That's the only difference between the two.

The introduction of 4K and Dolby Atmos which enhances your vision and audio viewing/listening experience.To experience the full presentation requires a 4K with Atmos but the plain blu-ray will allow you to taste some.

Besides the reason you just mentioned (audio/video) the only discernable difference I've noticed is that one version comes with the Digital copy so you can download it onto Vudu/Movies anywhere account while the other is simply the 4k & blu ray version.
