I wouldn't say it's good for videos. Mostly just good for photos
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's a nice ball head, and will work okay for video. It will lock the camera firmly, but it doesn't have a separate pan-control knob, so keeping the camera horizontal while panning can be a challenge. If you intend to shoot much video, you'd be better off buying the 290 tripod with a fluid video pan head instead. A good compromise is the three-way pan head.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For setting up a static position ball heads are great. But if you want to be able to adjust framing a moving object or create smooth panning movements, no. What you're after is a fluid video head designed for video cameras and meant to give you those nice smooth pans with little to no glitches or stutters.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A ball head for video camera? Not if you hope to be able to execute smooth panning moves. Not that you could not pan, you certainly could and by tinkering with the friction lock you could make it work. But for panning with a video camera what you really want is nice fluid pan head. Not a ball head.
