• The monopod has a threaded insert that screws directly into the camera or lens foot. I mount mine on the lens foot because it balances better and then I can leave the tripod bracket mounted to my camera.

• No you cannot add a base. The legs are slimmer down the bottom and are rubber tipped with optional spikes provided.

• yes you can add the base to the bottom but make sure to get the right tread size, it is about 1/8" however research first.

• The monopod has a rubber tip with an embedded screw. This end can be removed by unscrewing. It also comes with a metal spike tip, also attached by a screw thread.

• The end is threaded but is an irregular diameter. So no bases are available.
