Hi hunter, a convection range will add a heating element and fan to back wall of an over. During a Convection cycle the air in the oven is actively circulated to give excellent results. you will need to reduce the temperature, duration or both when converting a recipe from standard thermal to convection.

In a traditional oven, the heat rises, so the top rack cooks faster than the others, and the fan in a convection oven helps heat distribute more evenly.
