“The consultant at Best Buy told me: you can't light the burners with a match when there isn't power in the house, it has an interlock that stops the flow of gas to the burners when there is no power. Is this correct for this model? Cause i really like it”

Hi R21, for this Maytag - 5.0 Cu. Ft. Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Range, In case of prolonged power failure, the surface burners can be lit manually. Hold a lit match near a burner and turn knob counterclockwise to LITE. After burner lights, turn knob to setting.
