“how do you run an unlimited pre-soak prior to washing the load? Maytag Bravos MVWX500XW0 Type 588-03. I occassionally need to pre-soak loads. I have tried to fill the tub for a bulk load and then just leave the lid up, however it drains instead of soaking. Very frustraiting. also, how can additives be used in this machine, such as Borax, Calgon, or any of the new Oxy-clean products. There are only 2 fill reservoirs, one for the detergent and one for fabric softener [and then the one for liquid bleach, which I don't know if I can use anything in there other than normal liquid bleach, so I have never used that port]. I have found this machine frustraiting, it came with no manual, and I have called several times to the Whirlpool HQ and Customer service to get answers; to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.”

Dear Kath: For the model MVWX500XW0 it does not have a soak option or feature on the unit. Unfortunately you will not be able to soak for extended times without that feature. When using Oxi clean or other additives you have to add them directly to the tub before adding clothing. The bleach dispenser is only for bleach. I am sorry that you didn't receive a manual.
