• I would say, no, as most of the time your aftermarket head unit will have the output jacks for your amp.

• Yes, this is for factory head units only that do not have RCA outs on the head unit. However it can be used with an aftermarket head unit if you do not want to run RCA’s threw the vehicle. Also for installing factory sub and amp combos that don’t have rca outs on both the amp and head unit.
