“If I have personal Microsoft 365 and I want to upgrade to family microsoft 365 when its time to renew does my account stay the same and just add the family program? I dont want to lose all my saved products and storage and have to start over.”

I'm not sure of the answer, but you could always save your stuff on your actual computer drive, and then it wouldn't matter if it changed your One Drive storage.
