• The Surface Duo 2 has MS Office loaded and I can open and edit documents but if you want full functionality with the cloud and your other Office 365 account then you'll need to subscribe.

• Yes, it comes with the full Microsoft Office Suite Pre Installed. Microsoft provides use free of charge on devices with small (less than 10") screens. If you don't have the 'Office 365 Cloud' version you can still use the pre installed suite. You will need to manage your files locally if you don't have some sort of cloud service such as OneDrive to enable you to grab files not stored locally on your phone.
