Hi debi101, Yes, the keyboard is backlit. There is an indicator on the F7 key that controls the brightness of the keyboard. Please note that the backlight is only on while you're typing so it might appear as if it doesn't work but it does. At first I thought this device was a bit slow, but after about 3 days it settles in and works very nicely. I use it for web surfing, consuming media, office apps and I carry it in the field to measure buildings and take notes. I used it yesterday for about 3 hours while meeting a client and measuring their building. When I left it had 70% battery left. It wasn't on the entire time but worked like a charm. I bought this to replace a galaxy tab S3 because I wanted the ability to manage files like a pc. I've been very happy with the purchase.

Yes the keyboard is backlit. I have the Surface Pro also and the GO appears to be like the PRO, except smaller.

The Surface Go is pictured with the Surface Go Signature Type Cover in product images. This keyboard does in fact come equipped with back-lit keys, however, this is a separate purchase from the Surface Go, as it is not included.
