No, surface pro 3 pen works on the new surface pro.

I do not draw with my surface therefore I don't see the need to have one. I needed a stylus bc I hate the fingerprints on screen so I purchased a $9 one on Amazon that works great and is magnetic also. I all depends on what programs you will use with the Surface. Watch YouTube videos regarding the pens and decide from there.

YES, AND I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT SPENDING MORE MONEY.
