Office Trial (not permanent) mail, calendar, skype, weather, Windows 8
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They both come with the same standard apps delivered with Windows 8/Windows 8.1. Mail, Calendar, Photos, Calculator, etc. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is not standard on the Pro or Pro2. A trial version of Office is pre-installed, but a license purchase is required. The regular Surface (non-Pro version) comes with Office standard, but keep in mind the regular Surface runs Windows RT, a stripped down version of the full Windows OS. The best part of the Pro versions is the fact that it runs a full version of Windows 8/8.1 which means anything you can install on a regular desktop or laptop running Windows, you can install on the Surface Pro.
